The winners continue to roll during winter at Eden Racing with BETTER CALL SAUL (4yo g Statue Of Liberty x Petite Oiseau) landing a super strong all the way win at Sale on Thursday.

This was "Woody's" second all the way victory in his 16-start career and a great sign that he is on the up and up this preparation.

Perfectly rated in front by apprentice jockey Ben Thompson, Better Call Saul controlled the 1617m race throughout, increasing the pressure on his rivals from the 600m and then putting them to the sword from the 400m to the post.

"He's a big solid bugger and that's how to ride him, Ben rode him to absolute perfection and hopefully he sticks with him this prep," Shea said.

"When he can break a field up like that he just keeps running. He loves a wet track and he's going to run 2000m, I really think he can land a few more races this prep and maybe end up at city grade again."

As well as taking home the spoils in the Laurels Function Centre Hcp, Better Call Saul could probably have claimed the title of best named horse at Sale on Thursday, his name a clever reference to Breaking Bad character Saul Goodman's blow up Statue Of Liberty figure on top of his legal practice.

Congratulations to the horse's owners David Chew, Vince Del Nigro, Johnny Del Nigro, Peter Gillespie, Cathy Hains, Myles Hunter, Eric Lucas, Mick Sharkie, John Sharkie, Burnewang North Pastoral Syndicate, and Ron Witney.
