Purchased from last year’s October Inglis Ready To Run Sale the very promising 3YO gelding by Odyssey Moon out of Swish (by More Than Ready) saluted first up at Bairnsdale on Sunday in the 1000 Maiden in most impressive fashion. Coming from near last on the turn and whilst quite green he mowed the field down to win by a neck on the line. People at Bairnsdale who know their racing can’t recall too many horses (let alone a first starter) coming from so far back to win over the 1000.
Teo Nugent who rode Schwoon was full of praise for the horse saying it has a bright future including on what he showed him could be city class. The horse will derive immense benefit from the run as he still has a lot to learn and will clearly be better served by progressively getting out in trip in his coming starts..
Congratulations to ALL owners in the horse and particularly those racing their first horse with Eden Racing – welcome to the winners enclosure..Jason Biason was a very happy owner given the horse races in his colours and he has a significant share in the horse.
Well done and thanks to Shea’s team headed up by Jamie Dentith for their patience and dedication with all our horses but especially our young ones.
In closing the stable was very unlucky to not come away with a double with another Ready To Run Purchase in Dangers looking certain to win in the straight but for continually ducking in. He beat the the third horse by 7 lengths and whilst he needs to iron out his manners (which will come with experience) he also has a bright future.
