Having only his second race start at Pakenham today the Al Mahar x Our Harmony 3 year old gelding Next Step Berrima was an impressive winner. Ridden a very positive race from the barriers by Jye McNeil the horse setteld just off the leader and hit the front at the top of the long Pakenham straight. He was challenged by Back In the Day just before the 200 and dug in ddep to win running away but just under two lengths. There were three 1400 races for the day and his time was within 5.5 lenghts of the BM70 winner in the unbeaten Kurabui (3 out of 3) and within 3.5 lengths of the Class I winner again an unbeaten smart horse in Bermadez.

Congratulations to all owners and well done to Shea, Jamie and all the hard working team at Eden Racing.

What’s the Next Step for Berrima? – Shea Eden will take him through his grades as he get’s out in distance and the horse looks to have a bright future with the added plus that he will relish winter going. He still has plenty of upside as he learns what it is all about.

It was career win 248 for Shea and his 27th winner for the current season whilst still sitting around 18% strike rate amongst the top 3 in the State.
