Exciting 2yo colt STRAGUN (2yo c Stratum x Heigl) makes his metropolitan debut tonight at Moonee Valley after a really encouraging debut run at Sale a fortnight ago.

With no suitable 1000m on the program prior to the Sale run, we took Stragun to Sale for a 1200m event and were thrilled with how the horse went. He showed the same gate speed he has shown in trials at Cranbourne and gave a good kick in the straight before fitness took its toll late in the race.

The drop back to 1000m will be in his favour tonight and we send a fitter, more experienced horse to the races for this tough contest.

"He's always been a colt that I had a really good opinion of and he didn't let us down at Sale," said Shea.

"I know that he has come on and improved for that effort but he needs to as he steps up in grade to this race, there are horses here with form around Blue Diamond contenders so it will be a good test."

Good luck to all connections involved with the colt, we'll see you at the track.
