After some mixed form following the horse’s impressive first up win at Sandown this prep on heavy ground the ex NZ 5 year old by Roc De Cambes out of Merle Park relished getting back onto a genuine heavy track at Moe yesterday in the BM 78 1600. Backing up from 7 days the horse took full advantage of his light weight, stepping up to the mile and was given a great ride by Froggy Newitt making his run around the field from the 650 and being too strong in the straight.

It was a very satisfying victory for all owners given a frustrating number of recent runs and congratulations all round. The win was equally satisfying for Shea and the Eden Racing team and no doubt the heavy track appears to be the key to his fortunes. There is every indication that Rock may even get out past the 1600 if the right race conditions present themselves.
