Improving mare SMOKIN AL (4yo m Al Samer x Aurora's Hot) landed her third win at Sale on Wednesday when a powerful victor of the Eastcoast Timber & Hardware benchmark 70 Hcp.
Ridden perfectly by apprentice Brandon Stockdale, Smokin Al stalked the speed before easing towards the middle of the track to let the mare loose. She accelerated with purpose and ran down the Godolphin filly Distraught to register a 3/4L win

"Really pleased that this filly has a city win by her name, I don't think it will be her last at this level," Shea said.
"She's always shown good talent but has needed some time. We've given her that time and the results are coming now, we've got her rising 3yo sister and her rising 2yo brother and both are just like her, natural running types with ability."
Congratulations to the winning connections Brian Cash, Keenan Galas, Daniel Holmes, Myles Hunter, James Hunter, Adam Innes-Brown, Peter Liedtke, and Jeff McManus.
