Following an incredible first up second at Sale on Sunday, Indiana Lilly (pictured) joins Geelong winner Polanco in the Final of the Melbourne Cup Carnival Series on Oaks Day next week. The final worth $500,000 is a BM80 over 1600 and with only one heat to go at Bendigo on Wednesday the field, at least on paper, doesn’t look to be nearly as strong as last year when Polanco performed very well against formidable opposition. With the number of many great owners in both horses it is a shame they can’t be on course to enjoy the thrill and excitement of the day but we all understand why.
It will be a big field and fingers crossed both horses can draw favourably. It’s a great testimony to Shea and the team to get two horses through the final.
