The long trip from south Gippsland to Echuca paid terrific dividends when the Shea Eden stable returned home with a winning double.

Eden took a team of three horses to Echuca but had immediate success when Beau Dash lived up to the potential he showed in his initial two starts with his win in the Border Inn Hotel Maiden Plate (1000m).

Beau Dash finished second at his first two starts before showing the benefit of the race experience in his third outing.

The three-year-old jumped smartly to share the speed before quickening nicely rounding the home turn. Beau Dash sprinted clear to open a two-length gap before jockey Jarrod Fry gave him an easy time over the last 50 metres, which allowed his opposition to get within 1-1/4 lengths.

Five-year-old gelding Projects made a winning start to his time with the Shea Eden stable when he carried a big weight to take out the Moama RSL Handicap (1000m).

Projects’s first 22 starts in Queensland reaped just one win but Eden took just one race to double that tally in the Rating 58 event.

Ben Knobel partnered Projects in the $15,000 event. The son of Show A Heart assisted the jockey to position him ride on the speed when he began brilliantly, finding his prominent position with little effort.

Projects travelled comfortably before pinching a break on his opposition early in the straight. His condition gave out late but he had enough in hand to score narrowly.

Congratulations to the owners of both winners at Echuca.
