Having been sought out for a jumping career by Shea Eden early in the season the seven year old gelding Lucas Cranach x Friday Frenzy (by Dubai Destination) was super impressive first up at Benalla yesterday in the BM58 1600 for apprentices only. Carrying a big impost of 63kg after the claim for young Logan McNeil.

The horse went into the race as a well known mudlark, a stayer and had never been placed in 5 first up starts however as expected by Shea being an apprentices race it was likely they would get along in front and “Auf” would drop out last. Although on a firm Good 4 track Logan McNeil followed instructions to a tee and commenced his run just before the turn to have the horse wound up as they straightened and got home over the top of them as Shea predicted he may do to win impressively at the good price of $12.

Congratulations to the ownership group that is made up of a number of our long term highly valued stable supporters who were keen to get involved in a prospective jumper.when the opportunity came up. A big well done to Shea, Jamie and the entire team for their fantastic work in getting “Auf” to win first up. Also congratulations to Logan McNeil for winning the “ride of the day” on Racing.com.

All involved are really looking forward to exciting times ahead.
