Beautifully bred filly ABESHA (3yo f More Than Ready x French Braids) showed her class at her fourth Victorian start on Friday when she stormed away with the Winning Edge Presentations Maiden Plate 1100m at Moe.

Relishing a touch of give underfoot, Abesha always travelled like the winner at Moe for Rhys McLeod and had the leader in her sights through the race before taking over off the turn.

After a light slap with the whip she accelerated quickly and drew clear for a soft 1.5L win, eased on the line to coast home.

"She's been a work in progress and has had to learn to settle and travel into her races. She's coming along well now and I'm learning about her as she develops," said Shea.

"She's got an amazing pedigree and I'd love to be able to take her the grades to town and get a valuable city win. There are some nice stakes races over summer and if we could get her some black type I'm sure Trevor would be over the moon."

Congratulations to owner Trevor Delroy, as always we appreciate the opportunity to train such lovely horses for you.
