Sometimes in the training ranks of the Racing Industry, talent can go unnoticed for some time, but not so for Shea Eden, who has burst onto the scene and is now the talk of the town. This young horseman has proven that you don't have to have a background in racing to become a success.

Shea completed year 12 when he was 18 years old and then commenced a career in the building industry and by the time he was 28 he was sub-contracting building houses.

He knew that training horses was what he would like to persue and he had already purchased his own property and gradually made improvements to it so that he would be able to make it his own training establishment when the time arose. His interest in horses was there from a young age.   Shea would find time to work part-time in stables and found his greatest passion was in the education of horses. Shea was licenced as a picnic trainer for 2 years, he was twice crowned Trainer of the year and trained the Omeo and Woolamai Cup winners.

His hands on approach, understanding of the horse, relaxed, patient and caring nature are all the right ingredients for getting the best out of his horses. This is why Shea has accquired so many horses that in other peoples eyes are regarded "broken down nags", "no good to go on with" and he has not only got them back to racing but has seen at least 90% of them return to the winners stall.

Since Shea started training professionally in 2011 he has already produced multiple metropolitan winners and his 2YO filly Zellindi was just beaten in the Listed Dequetteville Stakes in Adelaide earlier this year after winning at her 2nd career start at Moonee Valley in April.

Shea thrives on hard work, he enjoys working hands on with the horses and his drive to succeed is evident by the amount of winners that have been coming out of his stable of late.
