Blue Diamond Dreaming

Jul 10, 2018

The yearling sales are done and dusted, the racing season is drawing to a close and the hope and expectation of the next generation of 2 year olds begins to become a reality. The 2017/18 yearling sales saw the stable purchase 20 high quality prospects which will be the next crop of horses to fly the flag for the stable in the years to come. Over the coming weeks, we will feature these yearlings and look at significant breeding points, pedigree updates, physical attributes and some unique insight from their trainer Shea Eden.

It is quite the process from sale day to race day but is certainly one full of excitement. After being broken in, the yearlings make their way to Cranbourne for their first look at stable life and begin to understand what it is all about. This entails all aspects including education, racing manners and experience on the track.

A highlight of our 2 year old prospects is the flashy Chestnut colt by leading sire Not A Single Doubt. Bred on the exact same cross as Blue Diamond winner Miracles of Life, this fellow oozes quality and is a very real prospect to follow the same path towards a Blue Diamond. Darren Dance of Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock (ATB) described the horse as "just a bigger version of Miracles of Life."

His dam, More Bubbly, is a strong mare by More Than Ready that showed tremendous speed and an unbelievable turn of foot in her racing career. In fact, on debut she ran second to a horse by the name of More Joyous!

This strapping young lad has all the power and class to suggest he will be an early runner, better yet, his attitude and temperament is faultless and he has a great brain.

Hear from his trainer Shea Eden in the link below where he gives some unique insight regarding the horse's progression.

He is ticking all the boxes and we are very eager to see what he can achieve on the race track.

Next up we will look at the stunning Written Tycoon x Dowager Princess colt.
