King Way Leads the Way

Jul 02, 2018

French import King Way scored an eye catching victory yesterday at Sale in $50,000 the Maffra Cup over 1700m. The lightly raced gelding did it tough in the run, pushing forward and sitting wide, but his class proved too strong going on to win by a length.

His trainer Shea Eden was full of praise after the win. "To put in a performance like that first up is a great indicator of how well he has come back. He looked great before the race. We didn't make it to his intended first up run at Geelong due to a traffic incident which was incredibly frustrating so to get the win today is very satisfying," Shea said.

King Way has enjoyed a consistent, albeit unlucky racing career since coming to Australia recording 2 wins and 9 placings, one of which was at listed level.

With a strong first up performance his preparation is now set up with a variety of options to where he will head next. With his liking for the soft going King Way will be sure to find his desired conditions at this time of year and we look forward to seeing what he can achieve.

Congratulations to connections.
