Sept 6: Seymour runners preview
Sep 06, 2017
We're going to have a few runners hit the track in the next few days starting at Seymour on Thursday.
I'm confident that all three runners are solid chances and hopefully a consistent maiden has struck the perfect race to win.
Seymour Thursday Sep 6
R2 No. 6 EXCEDER - If any horse in my stable deserves a win it's this mare. She has really turned the corner after taking a couple of runs to work out what the racing game is all about, and three of her last four runs have been excellent. She went very close at Geelong last start and I think this is not any harder - good draw, good jockey, c'mon girl!
R4 No. 7 STATELY BOY - I'd have liked to have had this horse at 1400m second-up but he had a minor setback with a low-grade virus which is common at this time of year - call it a touch of man flu! He's worked well in the last week though and had a nice 800m gallop in a jump out at Cranbourne last Friday. He'll be ridden conservatively from the gate and will be hitting the line hard with a view to stepping out to 1400m next start and then a mile after that.
R9 No. 11 EQUINETTE - To say this mare has been frustrating during her career would be an understatement. She's had her share of niggles along the way but when she's right she's up to winning a race like this. She's drawn to settle handy to the speed from a good gate and if she's at her best she could surprise.
