Busy Times At Eden Racing

May 25, 2017

The group of yearlings purchased at the Melbourne Inglis Sales are looking great and are all well on their way to being broken in and continuing their early education at the Corinella stables.

"This would be some of the best young horses that we have welcomed to the stable" said Shea. They all show the qualities that attracted us to them at the sales and I couldn't be happier with their progress".

"It's exciting to see the young horses develop as they go through their daily working routine of lunging in the round yard, getting used to the saddle and then the moment when the rider first sits in the saddle."

It's all hands on deck at Cranbourne with 35 horses in work and many either coming back after a spell or young ones ready to make their racing debut.

Horses such as Rip Van Winkle x Go South, one of the horses purchased at the New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sales in November are close to their maiden runs which is an exciting time for owners and the stable.

The Corinella beach stables are also flat chat with horses building up their fitness after a spell in the paddock, or light training at the beach for horses that have just raced.

Eden Racing has also welcomed some new owners and horses to the stable which brings some pride to the Eden Racing Team that owners have confidence to put their horses in the care of Shea and the team.

So busy times ahead with horses racing at Ballarat, Geelong, Moe and Sandown in the next few days - good luck to all the connections.
