Ocean Embers Wins Well at Caulfield

Aug 16, 2016

Ocean Embers (Beneteau x Burningwood 4 yo) gave her owners a lot to cheer about as she proved her ability in winning at Caulfield on Saturday in the 1100 metre  MRC Foundation Handicap.

On the heels of a second placing in Adelaide a fortnight prior, Ocean Embers was simply too good after settling towards the back of the field and under the care of apprentice jockey Regan Bayliss, powered home to win well.

Ocean Embers was the only horse to break 34 seconds for the last 600m while her last 200m of 11.37 was one of the quickest for the day.

This win has resulted in her rating increasing to 85, which now opens up the fields for her next race.  At this stage Ocean Embers is set for the Cochram Stakes back at Caulfield in two weeks.

Congratulations to owners Gary Avery, Lachlan Brown, Ben Clarke, Sue Coglin, David Donnelly, Warwick Dries, Vision Racing Syndicate (Mgr: Brent Dries), Jarred Fiddes, Michael Graham, Adam Hardie, Callan Jolly, Carlee Knight, Nick Moncrieff, Chad Moss, Steve ORourke, Jordan Reynolds, Murray Rogers, Michael Sharkie, Ron and Kim Thomas, Tim Thwaites, Carolyn Wargent, Mark Wilson and Damian Wilson
